Board of Education Awards Reschedule

Mark your calendars! Due to the superintendent search timeline, this year's Board of Education Awards have been moved to Tuesday, November 27th at 6:30 PM in Listiak Auditorium.These awards recognize students (10th - 12th grade) that have maintained a grade point average of 3.200 or above for the 2017-18 school year. Students being honored at the ceremony will receive an invitation by mail closer to the event!


How to Pay for College!

All students are invited to attend our How to Pay for College night here in the ILC on October 23rd from 6-8 pm. All students and their parents/guardians are invited to attend at 6 pm for a short presentation by representatives from LMC on how to pay for college, the different types of financial aid, and more. Current seniors and their parents/guardians are invited to stay after the presentation to work on their Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). LMC staff will be available to assist with questions regarding the financial aid application.

Application Help

Seniors can receive help on their FAFSA and school applications every Thursday in October in room A101.

10/4 & 10/11 during 2nd & 3rd periods.

10/18 & 10/25 during 5th and 6th periods.


Senior Application Raffle

Seniors, as you complete your applications for schools, FAFSA, scholarships, or if you're working with a military recruiter - complete a pink raffle card in the SSC for a chance to win free stuff! The more applications you complete, the better your chances for winning! There will be weekly drawings all of October. Winners will be notified via email.



On Friday, October 26, 2018, the High School Tri-M Music Honor Society will be presenting a Halloween Carnival for all children ages 12 and under (must be accompanied by an adult). The Carnival will take place from 4:30-7:30pm in the Baseline MS Gym.

The Halloween Carnival will feature an assortment of carnival games, pumpkin painting, face painting, photo booth, bouncy house, instrument petting zoo, concessions and more!

In addition, there will be a costume contest at 6:00pm.

This is a community event, so please feel free to share with all of your family friends and others in the community!

Admission is free! Tickets for carnival games will be on sale at the door for $0.50 each. Everyone is encourage to wear their costume and bring a bag/bucket for candy and prizes!

Attention students

Do you want to exempt from exams?

Make sure you are checking your attendance daily!! You will not be able to exempt from exams with any UA or more then 3 EA's. We are only allowed to change your attendance the week of the absence.

Western Michigan University, Will waive the application fee for any students who attends an Open House event on campus and applies that day. This year’s Open House dates are 10/12, 10/27, and 11/2.


SAT scores & Transcripts

Seniors, remember that every school to which you apply needs your high school transcript and SAT scores. You must send your transcript through your Parchment account, and your SAT scores through your College Board account. Winter sports Students interested in signing up for a winter sport, there are sign up sheets outside the athletic office.

2019-2020 Merit Scholarship, deadline to apply is Dec. 12

Students must apply to KVCC first.

Students must have a minimum GPA of 3.5, and a minimum ACT composite score of 21 or a minimum new SAT composite score of 1060 to be eligible for consideration. Students who are selected will be awarded a $3,000 scholarship for their freshman year. Students can receive an additional award of $3,000 for their sophomore year based on criteria being met. Students must have already applied to LMC.

Presidential Scholarship: 3.75 HS GPA and 21 ACT or 1060 SAT; equal to the amount of ~$4,500.00/year.

Board of Trustees Scholarship: 3.25 HS GPA; equal to the amount of ~$2,000.00/year.

Winner’s Circle/LMC foundation Scholarship: 2.25 HS GPA and demonstrate financial need (cannot be eligible for full pell) ; equal to the amount of ~$500.00-$1,000/year.

Early College Scholarship: 3.0 HS GPA and 3.0 LMC GPA (with 3 or more credits taken at LMC as an early college student)

You're never too old to dress up for Halloween!!

Students and Teachers: Do you want to dress up for Halloween? For $1 you can wear your costume to school on Wednesday for Halloween. Key Club is raising money for UNICEF to help support their cause. Please remember that the dress code still applies and your face cannot be covered. October 31 in the morning come to room B114 pay your dollar and receive a stamp to wear your costume

Students interested in bowling If you would like to be on the bowling team this winter season, please stop by the Athletic Office and see Mrs. Schrader or Mr. Verseput in regards to setting up times to practice with the coach before the season starts. She is meeting with students on Tuesdays and Thursdays.




The Fall Choir Concert---

Tuesday, October 23 at 7pm in Listiak Auditorium

The concert is free and open to the public, and will be the first opportunity this school year to hear the middle school and high school choirs.

Saginaw Valley State University Saginaw Valley State University is coming to South Haven High School on Tuesday, October 23rd. Stop by the Student Success Center today to sign-up!


GSA meeting

The GSA will be holding a meeting to celebrate LGBTQIA+ history month on Thursday, October 25 starting immediately at the end of the school day and lasting until 3:00pm. GSA meetings are open to all students with open minds, no matter how you identify—straight and cis allies are welcome too! Bring a friend and enjoy some fun times!


Choir Trip!

The high school choirs will be taking a trip to Chicago to see a professional production of Beauty and the Beast on Thursday, January 17, 2019. There are 50 student tickets available for the trip and spots will be reserved on a first come, first served basis for students who turn in a $50 deposit and a parent/guardian permission slip, due no later than Thursday, November 1, 2018. Spaces are open first to choir students, and then open to other high school students as availability allows. Please see Ms. Hillyard in the choir room for more information.

Wrestling conditioning If you are interested in going out for the wrestling team this winter season, they are starting conditioning on Tuesdays & Thursdays, October 23 - November 1st. Right after school, 2:30 - 4:00 in the wrestling room. Hope to see you there.
