Principal’s Corner

Hello and welcome to South Haven High School. It is an absolute pleasure to serve as your South Haven High School Principal and to welcome you back for the 2018-2019 school year.  This is my 5th year as the high school principal in South Haven, and my 12th year serving as a building principal in Michigan. I believe South Haven has a strong tradition of doing their absolute best to provide for our students and families and have a deep sense of pride in our community. I look forward to continuing that tradition and learning alongside our phenomenal staff of educators.

This year South Haven High school is committing to several different initiatives as part of our school improvement plan such as implementing new English curriculum, piloting new math curriculum, exploring a project based learning model to implement with a select group of students and also adding both remediation and additional AP level courses. We are continuing to develop our new fab lab and are offering 2nd year courses while looking to partner with our community in mentor led projects. Our World Championship qualifying robotics team, award winning fine arts department, and newly renovated 21st Century learning spaces are increasing in numbers and I truly believe there is something at South Haven for everyone.

If you are new to our RAM family, let me be the first to welcome you!  We know that you will bring unique strengths, talents, and interests. Our school and community prides itself on our diversity and I believe it sets us apart. We are very glad to have you be a part of our RAM family and believe we offer an education and services that are second to none in Southwest Michigan. We ask that you get involved and stay engaged with us as we continue to educate, and in partnership with our families, help grow our fine young people to be Responsible, Accountable, and Motivated.

I invite you to engage with us via social media, and stay “in the know” with upcoming events!  There are countless opportunities to be involved in your child’s education. “Like” us on Facebook, “Follow” us on Twitter @Shpsrams.
