Dear VB Tech Parents and Students,
Students attending VB Tech this year must have an approved driving form on file in order to drive to/from the campus in Lawrence. Unless they have an approved form, students are expected to ride the school-provided bus both to and from Vo-Tech.
We have already had a few instances of students riding the bus to VB Tech and then riding back with another student. For the purposes of safety and accountability, students need to follow their approved transportation plan both ways.
Thank you for helping us keep transportation consistent and ensure all students are accounted for.
Have a great weekend,
South Haven High School Staff

Here are a couple of reminders as we get ready for the first day of school:
-- The first day of school is Monday, August 31. South Haven High School runs from 7:30 AM - 2:19 PM. Doors open to students promptly at 7:15 AM.
-- SHHS drop-off and pick-up procedure: Parent and student traffic should happen on the south side of SHHS during normal school days. In the interest of safety, and of maintaining the proper flow of traffic, we ask that car-riders now be dropped off by the gymnasium doors (Door M). Please do NOT drop your car-rider off in the front parking lot, which is reserved for buses and staff, or by Door H, which will now be locked to ensure further building security. You can find more information on our website at: https://highschool.shps.org/o/high-school/page/parking-and-traffic
-- While VB Tech will start for South Haven Students on Tuesday, we would like all students (VB Tech and non-tech) to attend a full first day at the high school on Monday, August 31. We plan on going over expectations and norms with the student body in the morning. Tech students without a regular first period can come to the ILC to start the day. We will bus those students to Lawrence starting on Tuesday (9/1).
We look forward to a great first week and a great school year. See you on Monday!

It appears there has been some confusion regarding the start date of classes at VB Tech for South Haven Students.
VB Tech does start classes for some county students this coming Monday (8/24). However, having communicated with their principal, she assured us that South Haven Students are not required to attend classes at tech until after their own home school's start date. Therefore, SHHS students will not be required to attend classes at VB Tech until September 1, and SHPS will not provide transportation until that date.
We would like all students (VB Tech and non-tech) to attend a full first day at the high school on Monday, August 31. We plan on going over expectations and norms with the student body in the morning. Tech students without a regular first period can come to the ILC.
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact the front office.
Thanks,
South Haven High School Staff.

Dear HS Parents,
We have two pieces of information for you as we get closer to the start of the school year.
First, our message from last week included a mistake in regards to chromebook pickup on Tuesday, August 25. The correct times for chromebook pick-up during the week prior to school are as follows:
-- Tuesday, August 25: 6:00 PM–7:00 PM, during Freshman Orientation
-- Thursday, August 27: 4:30–6:00 PM, during Open House
Secondly, we would like to provide a little clarification regarding morning student drop-offs, which happen on the South side of SHHS during normal school days. In the interest of safety, and of maintaining the proper flow of traffic, we ask that car-riders now be dropped by the gymnasium doors (Door M). The attached diagram outlines the proper flow of traffic.
Please do NOT drop your car-rider off in the front parking lot, which is reserved for buses and staff, or by Door H, which has been open in the past but will now be locked to ensure further building security.
Thank you,
South Haven High School Staff
